Rebranding
Semester Reflection
Projects:
The first project was a Saul Bass project that we had to research and then make a poster for the nelson Atkins museum and then a powerpoint project over the same thing. This project took about a whole quarter. Most of the challenges I faced were being able to create and make the same creations as he did. I learned to keep working and trying to make the detail better. Most of the feedback I got was making sure the detail in the project was better and more precise. I changed most of the graphics to make it better. The project took pretty long to do so its hard to stay focused on one thing for awhile.

The second project was about typography project where you would find about 10 quotes and then narrow them down to 4 and then make a new style for them with new color. This project didn't take as long as the first one but it did take some time to finish and make sure the detail was good because type needs a lot of detail. Challenges I faced was being able to find the color way and make it right for that sentence. Feedback that I received was to make the bold parts of the sentence really pop more then the regular typing. i made the bolder parts bigger and the smaller parts of the sentence smaller to bring out more in the sentence. I really like the process of this project.
The last project was our rebrand of a store or any restaurant that has a logo that needs to be changed. This project took about 3/4 of a quarter. Most of the challenges I faced were making the mockups and having my picture fit the mockup perfectly with photoshop. I am not the best at photoshop so it was kind of hard to do. I learned how to recreate a logo or brand and how to use photoshop better. I received feedback on my mockups mainly because they were not perfectly fit to the mockup and my pictures were fuzzy. I did change the fitting of the mockup. I really like the outcome of this project and it was fun being able to change something in real life and make it better or the way you like it.
Time in Class:
I used my time in class to finish projects and make sure my bechance is up to date. After I finish a project early I would go back into that project and try to fix and details or mistakes I have made to that project to make it better. I would look for someone to look over my project and make sure there are no spelling mistakes and make sure everything is perfect and if not that extra hour is for fixing what I have messed up on the project. I don't do that much out of class but when I'm driving around I usually think about what logos I could fix with a simple tweak or touch to it.Strengths:
My strengths are being able to think of new ideas and make logos or ideas better by making that graphic or type better in simplicity or to create more to go on it. I maximize my strengths by making my projects go above and beyond by asking people what I should do to make them better or ask for help on making the graphic or type perfect.Improvements:
I could use improvements in photoshop because I forget how to do things and edit pictures for the mockups that is usually why my mockups are not as strong and not as good as my illustrator projects. I asked Gavin to help me more on photoshop and he was able to help me out by teaching me how to use photoshop better by using layers and the stamp tool to cover anything I missed.
Summary:
I really loved the last project that was the rebranding project I loved how we got to take something that we see everyday and put our spin on the brand and make it come to life. I wouldn't change a thing this semester I really like what we did. I learned so much this semester from type to logos it has helped me see more and open my eyes to everyday life and now I can see what I could do different. I would make the goal for working harder and better detail.
